Jaipur, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : Rajasthan BJP President Madan Rathore criticized Congress for its recent protest against the Election Commission in Delhi, labeling it as a publicity stunt. He described the situation as a clear case of “Election Commission versus Congress Party.”
Rathore stated that if Congress had genuine complaints against the Election Commission, they should have followed proper procedures by requesting an appointment and meeting with a delegation. He emphasized that Congress leaders were well aware that such protests would yield no results. Instead, he argued, they were merely seeking media attention.
He pointed out the established process for lodging complaints with the Election Commission, which typically involves a delegation of five to seven individuals securing an appointment to present their case. Rathore claimed that organizing a protest with 300 to 400 participants was simply a political maneuver aimed at attracting media coverage.
The BJP leader asserted that these protests would not lead to any action against Gyanesh Kumar or affect the electoral process. He accused Congress of attempting to portray itself as an active opposition party.
Rathore also alleged that the protests were intended to create confusion and incite public unrest. He urged Congress to trust democratic and constitutional institutions, advocating for dialogue through established channels.
Addressing the behavior of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Rathore criticized his treatment of a female police officer during the protest. He urged the media to condemn Gandhi’s actions, stating that such behavior was unacceptable for a leader of a national political party. He specifically condemned Gandhi’s gesture of placing his hand on the officer’s back, questioning whether he should not adhere to standards of decorum and respect.
Rathore expressed that leaders in public life are expected to act with dignity and respect, and Gandhi’s actions reflected a lack of proper upbringing and respect for boundaries.
On the topic of Congress leaders’ claims of unity, Rathore remarked that those who are truly united do not need to repeatedly assert their togetherness. He accused Congress leaders of only coming together for photo opportunities, suggesting that genuine unity does not require constant affirmation.
He highlighted internal discord within the party, referencing an incident involving Congress leaders Sukjinder Singh Randhawa and Sachin Pilot. Rathore recounted how Randhawa pressured Pilot to make a statement, raising concerns about the respect afforded to senior party members.
Furthermore, Rathore alleged that attempts are being made to create instability in India, hinting at potential foreign conspiracies where some domestic leaders act as “puppets” for foreign powers. He urged the people of India to remain vigilant against efforts to undermine the nation’s unity, integrity, and democratic institutions.
