Kolkata, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh has voiced his concerns regarding the recent protests by the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) in Delhi. He stated that while democracy allows for public demonstrations, the current situation appears to be an attempt to create chaos in the capital.
Ghosh remarked, “There is an effort to cause unrest in Delhi. This is troubling for the public, and the government has already made necessary arrangements. We have ensured that external factors do not worsen the situation. The police and administration are on high alert. No one is prohibited from protesting; democracy allows for expression through movements, but attempts to disrupt law and order must be curtailed.”
Commenting on the presence of Trinamool Congress leaders, including Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee, in Delhi, Ghosh likened them to “cockroaches,” questioning whether their actions signify progress or regression. He noted, “It seems that all have become like cockroaches. Whether this is advancement or decline is unclear. Even elephants mix with cockroaches, and we are witnessing the resulting chaos.”
Regarding the meeting between opposition leaders and President Droupadi Murmu, he stated, “The opposition has approached the courts and met with the President. It is good that the President has taken the initiative to engage in dialogue. The demands of the opposition should be addressed, but protesting at the expense of the public poses a challenge to the nation’s progress and law enforcement.”
On the outcomes of the by-elections in Nandigram and Rejinagar, Ghosh highlighted the positive changes in West Bengal, particularly among the Muslim community. “The Muslim society has begun to benefit from a democratic environment. Previously, their votes were manipulated through fear. People are now distancing themselves from corruption. The Muslim community has aligned with development, which is commendable. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has also reached out, fostering friendship. Everyone’s cooperation is needed to build a new Bengal.”
