Trump Defends Russian Oil Deal, Thanks Putin Despite Zelenskys Criticism

Washington, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : President Donald Trump recently expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin for a significant oil agreement that supplies diesel to the United States. This statement comes even as he faced criticism from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump underscored the importance of the energy deal for American supply and the global oil market. He stated, “I think you’ve heard about the oil deal with Russia. It’s a very big deal. A large amount of oil is coming into our country, and I sincerely want to thank President Putin.” He emphasized the necessity of diesel in the U.S. and reiterated his appreciation for the agreement.

Trump’s remarks were made in response to a journalist who referenced Zelensky’s criticism, which labeled the deal as a sign of weakness for Trump. In his defense, Trump argued that the U.S. requires energy supplies, particularly highlighting the critical role of diesel. He claimed that the deal has contributed to a decrease in energy prices.

On the topic of Iran, Trump did not dismiss the possibility of additional U.S. military action. He portrayed Iran as a nation facing military and economic challenges, stating, “Their military has lost. They have no navy. They have no air force.” He mentioned that inflation in Iran has surged to 300 percent.

When questioned about a recent attack at an airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Trump expressed his discontent, saying, “This is not a good thing. Absolutely not a good thing. I’m not happy about it.”

Trump also addressed questions regarding the potential live broadcast of the execution of the Fort Hood shooter. He indicated that his primary concern is the implementation of the death penalty, stating, “I don’t care how it’s done. I believe the death penalty is absolutely justified for him.”
