BJPs Ballari Chalo March Continues into Fourth Day, Criticizes Karnataka Government for Neglecting the Poor

Raichur, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : The ‘Ballari Chalo’ march, led by Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra, entered its fourth day in Raichur on September 4. The rally commenced from the Court Circle in Sindhnur and is moving towards Nwali Cross in Karatagi.

The BJP organized this march to spotlight what it claims are the failures of the state government, particularly regarding the lack of social security pensions and payments for ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and guest lecturers.

After flagging off the march, Vijayendra spoke to the media, accusing Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s administration of distancing itself from the poor, agricultural laborers, farmers, and marginalized communities.

He stated, “The poorest people in the state have been pushed into a situation where they are blaming the government.” Vijayendra further alleged that monthly assistance for the elderly and disabled has not reached beneficiaries for several months.

He emphasized that the government should serve as a support system for the most vulnerable but is failing to address their difficulties. According to him, eligible beneficiaries are not receiving the full benefits of the ‘Ganga Kalyan Scheme,’ and the government has not succeeded in providing housing for homeless families.

Vijayendra pointed out, “The government has reached a point where it cannot even release funds for the welfare of the poor on time.” He accused the government of neglecting farmers, agricultural workers, the elderly, and the disabled.

He claimed, “While the government promotes five guarantees, it ignores the real issues facing the poorest people in the state. The state government has become a ‘curse’ for the poorest classes, and many across the state are unhappy with its functioning.”

Vijayendra urged the government to “come out of the illusion of guarantees” and address the genuine problems of the people immediately.

The march has seen participation from former Deputy Chief Minister and MP Govind Karjol, former ministers B. Shriramulu and V. Sunil Kumar, along with several MLAs, MLCs, state officials, district presidents, former legislators, and party workers.
