New Delhi, October 12 (Daily Kiran) : The Italian Embassy’s Deputy Head of Mission, Aurora Rusi, highlighted the strengthening ties between India and Italy during a recent interview. She stated that both nations are eager to collaborate on various issues, ranging from counterterrorism to talent mobility.
Rusi emphasized three key areas that define their bilateral relations. She pointed out Italy’s clear stance on terrorism, noting, “Italy and India are working together in the fight against terrorism. Recently, we held a working group meeting with the foreign ministries and other institutions from both countries on this topic.” She added that migration is a critical aspect that requires careful attention and is part of their Migration and Mobility Agreement discussions.
In discussing opportunities for skilled Indian workers in Italy, Rusi mentioned the need for Italy to clearly understand its requirements. “We know there is a significant demand for skilled workers in Italy. On the other hand, we can train workers here in India,” she explained.
She also mentioned plans to include Italian language skills as a competency in training programs. “We are working with the Indian government to ensure that once needs are assessed, skilled workers can easily adapt to the requirements in Italy,” Rusi noted.
The Italian official underscored the importance of a “Special Strategic Partnership” and “People-to-People Connect” in enhancing bilateral relations. “We are in a great phase of our bilateral relations. Recently, the prime ministers of both countries elevated our ties to a special strategic partnership, which includes fostering connections between our peoples. Mobility is a significant part of this, and we are working towards increasing the flow of talent between our nations,” she concluded.
