A violent confrontation between BJP and Congress workers in Jamshedpur led to over ten injuries, prompting heavy police deployment in the area.

Jamshedpur, October 12 (Daily Kiran) : Tensions escalated in Jamshedpur on October 12 when violent clashes broke out between workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress outside the Congress headquarters in Bistupur. The confrontation occurred during a protest related to the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) incident.
More than ten individuals sustained injuries in the stone-pelting and brawls, including Dinesh Kumar, a former BJP district president, and a Congress vice president, both of whom suffered serious head injuries.
The chaos that ensued prompted local authorities to deploy police forces to the area to maintain order. The BJP’s Mahila Morcha had organized the protest outside the Congress headquarters to demand action, arrest, and dismissal of Congress MP Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam from Manipur.
According to the planned schedule, BJP workers gathered at G Town Club ground in Bistupur around 11:30 AM before marching to the Congress office. Upon reaching the headquarters, activists from both parties clashed, leading to heated exchanges and escalating violence, with sticks and stones being thrown. Many participants were left bloodied in the sudden outbreak of violence.
The exact origin of the conflict remains unclear. Local police responded swiftly to the situation, taking measures to control the unrest and reinforcing police presence in Bistupur as a precaution.
Police officials reported that the injured were transported to hospitals for treatment. Authorities are currently reviewing video footage and other evidence to identify those responsible for the violence. They have warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone involved in disrupting public order or engaging in stone-pelting. An extensive investigation into the incident is ongoing.
