BJPs Ajay Alok Calls for Pakistan to Restrain Its Actions Amid Bihar By-Election Campaign

Patna, July 2: Ajay Alok, spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), addressed various pressing national issues including the upcoming by-election in Bihar’s Bankipur seat, the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in West Bengal, the investigation into Ram Temple donations, India-Pakistan relations, and the political dynamics in Uttar Pradesh.

In response to a call from 117 intellectuals from India and Pakistan for dialogue between the two nations, Alok expressed gratitude to those advocating for “good talks.” However, he emphasized that Pakistan must first curb its disruptive actions. “Until Pakistan restrains itself, engaging in ‘good talks’ will yield no benefits,” he stated.

Regarding the Special Investigation Team (SIT) looking into the Ram Temple donation case, Alok noted that the team is thoroughly examining all aspects, tracing the money trail, and conducting a five-year audit, which justifies their request for additional time.

On the proposed cabinet meeting concerning the UCC in West Bengal, he remarked that the UCC is gradually being implemented as a pilot project in BJP-ruled states, with a particular focus on border states where it is most needed.

As discussions continue within the opposition regarding leadership and seat-sharing in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Alok dismissed the coalition as a group of arrogant individuals, predicting internal conflicts.

Commenting on a bill related to the resignation of Prime Ministers or Chief Ministers after a 30-day sentence, he asserted that it is a beneficial law for the Indian populace and essential for upholding the constitution. He referenced Arvind Kejriwal, who remained in office despite spending months in jail, warning against normalizing such practices.

On the BJP’s preparations for the Bankipur by-election, Alok highlighted its significance, noting it was vacated by the national president and that the constituency has consistently supported the BJP. He stated, “No election is easy for us. We view every election as a challenge. Our goal is to win by an even larger margin than before, and every party worker is dedicated to this effort.”

Finally, he commented on the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) foundation day and leader Tejashwi Yadav’s foreign trip, suggesting that attending foreign events is prioritized over party celebrations. “What difference does it make? This is a family party; whether you celebrate today or tomorrow, it’s all the same,” he concluded.
