New Delhi, April 25: Seven Rajya Sabha MPs, including Raghav Chadha, have announced their departure from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). In a press conference, Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal, and Sandeep Pathak revealed their decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and subsequently arrived at the party headquarters to formalize their membership. BJP National President Nitin Naveen welcomed the three MPs into the party and extended best wishes to others.
On social media platform X, Nitin Naveen stated that Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, and Ashok Mittal were officially welcomed into the BJP family at the party headquarters.
He also wished good luck to Harbhajan Singh, Swati Maliwal, Vikram Sahni, and Rajinder Gupta, who are expected to join under Prime Minister Modi’s dynamic leadership.
According to Naveen’s post, Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal, and Sandeep Pathak have already taken BJP membership, while Harbhajan Singh, Swati Maliwal, Vikram Sahni, and Rajinder Gupta may soon follow suit.
In response to this development, Arvind Kejriwal remarked, “The BJP has once again betrayed Punjabis.” BJP leader Vinod Tawde countered, suggesting that Kejriwal’s mental state indicates that the ‘shock’ was quite significant.
Raghav Chadha, addressing the reasons for leaving the party, made serious allegations, stating that AAP has completely strayed from its core principles. He expressed that the party he nurtured for 15 years has lost its way, now prioritizing personal gains over national interest.
Chadha emphasized that all leaders had worked hard to expand AAP in Delhi, Punjab, and other states, but circumstances have changed. He declared his intention to move away from AAP and connect with the public.
Regarding his decision to join the BJP, Chadha praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, noting that the central government has made bold decisions over the past 12 years that many leaders feared to take. He stated that the public has endorsed this leadership three times, and now he aims to work for the country under the same guidance.
