Kollam, March 31: Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Naveen participated in a roadshow in Karunagappally, Kerala, on Tuesday. During the event, he targeted the CPI-M-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), labeling them as ‘match fixers.’
Naveen held them accountable for the lack of development in Kerala. He accused the current LDF and previous UDF governments of failing to contribute to the state’s progress and instead “looting the people through match-fixing.”
He stated, “For the past 70 years, the LDF and UDF have exploited the public through match-fixing. They have tampered with Kerala’s heritage and culture, neglecting the region’s development. Whether it’s welfare, infrastructure, or overall growth, the state government has pushed Kerala backward in all these aspects.”
Naveen claimed, “Both LDF and UDF engage in match-fixing and operate similarly behind the scenes. The people of Kerala are ready to teach them a lesson in the upcoming elections.”
He also pointed out that the UDF and LDF governments have not done enough to enhance the state’s hospitality and tourism services. Furthermore, he raised concerns about migration as a pressing issue in the state.
“Kerala is known for its hospitality services, which have been severely impacted by this (LDF) government. Today, people from Kerala are migrating to other states for employment. Backwater tourism was Kerala’s identity, contributing to its economic development, which has been destroyed by the LDF and UDF governments,” he remarked.
Naveen criticized senior leaders of the opposition India bloc for failing to address the “disrespect towards Hindu deities” occurring across the country. He stated, “I want to ask Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, why there is silence from his party and allies like DMK’s MK Stalin and Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar, as well as Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh, while Hindu deities are being insulted nationwide.”
He further asserted that the opposition bloc is engaging in Hindu vote politics regarding the Sabarimala issue, showing no regard for the sentiments of the local populace. He emphasized that the people of Kerala will see the BJP as a viable alternative to the UDF and LDF governments.
Naveen concluded by noting the growing trust the people of Kerala have in the BJP and its leadership, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He mentioned that support for the BJP has surged from two percent to nearly 20 percent. “We believe the people are fully prepared to view the BJP as an alternative in the state. Once in power, the impact of a dual-engine government on Kerala’s development will be evident,” he stated.
