BJP Legislators Driver Murder Sparks Protests in Jharkhand

Ranchi, June 4: In a shocking incident in Jharkhand, Rajkumar Yadav, the personal driver of BJP legislator Dr. Neera Yadav, was brutally murdered late Wednesday night over a land dispute. The attack also left his elderly parents and young daughter seriously injured.

In response to the murder, family members and villagers blocked the Ranchi-Patna National Highway for nearly two hours on Thursday morning, demanding justice. The blockade was lifted only after police officials assured them of action. Authorities have reported the arrest of four suspects in connection with the case.

Rajkumar Yadav was a resident of Chitarpur village in the Koderma district. He had just completed his duty at an event in Jhumritilaiya and was returning home when he learned of a dispute involving his family over land. Upon arriving at the village, he attempted to mediate the conflict but was attacked with sharp weapons and a spade. He sustained severe injuries, particularly to his head, and died at the scene. His father, Dashrath Yadav, mother, Sudha Devi, and daughter, Sonika Kumari, were also critically injured and have been admitted to the local hospital for treatment.

The atmosphere in the village remains tense following the incident. Early Thursday, family members and villagers took to the highway with Rajkumar’s body, causing significant traffic disruptions. Police and administrative officials arrived to negotiate with the protesters.

It has been reported that prior to the incident, legislator Dr. Neera Yadav had alerted the police about the escalating situation and requested their presence. Unfortunately, the police were unable to control the dispute in time. Following the news of the attack, the legislator visited the hospital late at night to check on the injured family members. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
