Ranchi, July 15: Ranchi police have made significant progress in a motorcycle theft case, arresting four suspects within 24 hours of the incident. Authorities recovered an illegal firearm, a live cartridge, and the stolen motorcycle from the accused. The police are currently interrogating all four individuals.
On Tuesday, a rural resident reported that his motorcycle was stolen at gunpoint in the Dasam Falls area. Following the victim’s complaint, an investigation was launched. Initial inquiries and technical information led the police to believe that the suspects were attempting to flee towards Khunti with the stolen motorcycle.
Upon receiving this information, the Dasam Falls police set up roadblocks and initiated an extensive vehicle inspection campaign in the area. During their search for the suspects, police detained one individual.
Based on information gathered during the interrogation, three additional suspects were identified, and police successfully apprehended them after surrounding the area. The operation lasted approximately two hours, resulting in the arrest of all four suspects. During the search, the police recovered the weapon and the stolen motorcycle.
In preliminary questioning, authorities are trying to determine whether the suspects are connected to an organized gang. Additionally, they are investigating any potential criminal records related to other thefts, robberies, or weapon-related offenses. Police are also gathering criminal history from nearby police stations regarding the suspects.
Officials have stated that cases will be filed against all suspects under the relevant sections of the law, and further legal action is underway.
