Young Man Murdered in Bokaro, Body Disposed of in Well; One Arrested

Bokaro, July 21: In a shocking incident in Bokaro district, Jharkhand, police have arrested a suspect in the murder of a 19-year-old man. The victim’s body was discovered in a well located in a forest area, following the suspect’s confession. Authorities seized the motorcycle and a stick believed to have been used in the crime.

The deceased has been identified as Sagar Kumar, a resident of the Baramsia area in Chandankiyari. He had been missing for several days. Following a complaint from his family, a case was registered at Baramsia OP under number 85/2026, prompting a search for him.

Chas Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Vedant Shankar reported that during the investigation, police learned Sagar Kumar was last seen with 50-year-old Manik Manjhi from Bhawanidih. Based on technical evidence and other information, police detained Manik Manjhi for questioning.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to his involvement in the murder. He revealed that after committing the crime, he disposed of the body in a well in the Siddhatand forest near Agadih village to conceal evidence. Following his directions, the police team recovered the body from the well. It has since been sent for post-mortem examination.

The SDPO confirmed that the suspect has been arrested and presented in court, where he was remanded to judicial custody. The police are currently investigating the motives behind the murder and whether any other individuals were involved. They stated that further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and other evidence. As of now, the official reason for the murder has not been disclosed.
