
New Delhi, July 16: Delhi Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a hit-and-run incident in the Alipur area. The tragic event resulted in the death of a police constable. Authorities have also seized the vehicle involved in the incident.
Officials reported that the police registered multiple FIRs following the Alipur incident and initiated an investigation. They quickly succeeded in apprehending the two suspects.
According to Delhi Police, the arrested individuals are identified as Kuldeep, also known as Karan, and Neeraj. The vehicle linked to the incident has been confiscated for further examination. Currently, the investigation and legal proceedings are ongoing, with priority given to completing the inquiry as per the law.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening around 6 PM at the Singhu Border in the Alipur area. A speeding car struck a head constable of the traffic police while he was on duty. Following the collision, the driver fled the scene with the vehicle. The injured officer fell onto the road after being hit.
The head constable was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors. He was identified as Amit, who was stationed at the Narela traffic circle and was using a speed gun for monitoring. Amit originally hailed from Sonipat in Haryana.
In the aftermath of the incident, Delhi Police began their investigation by reviewing nearby CCTV footage. Initial inquiries led to the identification of the vehicle, resulting in the arrest of the two suspects.
