Ranchi, July 22: A man was brutally murdered with a sharp weapon in the Sadar police station area of Ranchi. The victim has been identified as local resident Ramesh Thakur. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination, initiating an investigation into the incident. The attack reportedly occurred late Tuesday night while Ramesh was sleeping alone in his home.
During this time, unidentified assailants broke into the house and attacked him with a sharp weapon. They inflicted multiple blows to his head, resulting in his death at the scene. On Wednesday morning, family members opened the door to find Ramesh lying in a pool of blood.
Upon receiving the report, the Sadar police arrived at the scene to conduct an inspection. They discovered a sharp weapon at the site, which is suspected to have been used in the murder. The weapon has been seized and sent for forensic analysis.
Additional evidence has also been collected from the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had two neighboring houses, one of which is rented out. The police are questioning the tenants and nearby residents. They are also reviewing CCTV footage from cameras installed in the vicinity.
