BJP Launches Nationwide Samrasata Sankalp Abhiyan from Guru Ravidass Birthplace

Varanasi, July 29: On the occasion of the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiro Mani Guru Ravidas Maharaj, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a nationwide ‘Samrasata Sankalp Abhiyan’ from his birthplace in Seer Govardhanpur, Varanasi. The campaign commenced with a grand procession featuring 131 urns filled with sacred soil from his birthplace. Representatives from 27 states will carry this soil to over 20,000 locations across the country to promote the message of social harmony.

The campaign was inaugurated with a ceremonial worship of the sacred soil, which was collected in 131 urns. The procession, which took place on Tuesday, included a vibrant display of traditional music, elegantly adorned horses, and 131 women in yellow attire carrying the urns on their heads. The procession culminated with a beautifully decorated carriage featuring an image of Sant Ravidas, which attracted significant attention from the devotees who showered flowers along the route.

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh stated that the sacred soil from Sant Ravidas’s birthplace will reach over 20,000 locations nationwide. He emphasized that the campaign aims to disseminate the ideals of social harmony, equality, human dignity, and the concept of ‘Begampura’ envisioned by Sant Ravidas. He highlighted that Sant Ravidas envisioned a society free from discrimination, injustice, and suffering.

On July 29, BJP National President Nitin Naveen, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and State President Pankaj Chaudhary will hand over the urns filled with sacred soil to representatives from 27 states. These representatives will then spread the teachings of Sant Ravidas and the message of social harmony in their respective states.

Lal Singh Arya, National President of the BJP Scheduled Front, remarked that Sant Ravidas conveyed a message of equality and human unity during a time of social inequality and caste discrimination. He noted that the message of ‘Ekai Maati Ke Sabh Bhande’ continues to inspire unity in society.

Dharampal Singh, BJP State General Secretary (Organization), stated that Sant Ravidas was a guiding light for all humanity, not just one community or class. His teachings still guide society towards harmony, respect, and social goodwill.

Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister and Varanasi’s in-charge Minister Suresh Khanna mentioned that Sant Ravidas instilled a new consciousness in society by promoting self-respect and equality during times of social inequality and discrimination.

Meanwhile, Social Welfare Minister Aseem Arun added that Sant Ravidas dedicated his life to fighting against casteism and untouchability, placing work and humanity above all. The event saw participation from senior BJP leaders, public representatives, saints, and a large number of devotees, reaffirming the party’s commitment to spreading Sant Ravidas’s teachings nationwide.
