BJP Dismisses Rahul Gandhis Prime Ministerial Aspirations for 2029

New Delhi, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : BJP leaders have voiced strong doubts regarding Rahul Gandhi’s ambition to become Prime Minister in the upcoming 2029 elections. Their comments came in response to statements made by leaders of the opposition coalition, known as the ‘Indi Alliance’.

Ram Kadam, a BJP spokesperson, remarked, “The leaders of the Indi Alliance claim that Rahul Gandhi will be their face for Prime Minister. However, CPI(M) leaders have stated that the Prime Ministerial candidate will be decided after the elections. This indicates a lack of shared vision within the Indi Alliance. Many of these parties have acknowledged their significant defeats under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership in past elections.”

Kadam further asserted that prominent political figures like Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, and Mamata Banerjee would never endorse Rahul Gandhi as a candidate for Prime Minister. He emphasized that the public has consistently placed their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is expected to maintain that position in the future. “Rahul Gandhi’s dream of becoming Prime Minister will remain just that—a dream,” he stated.

Anil Rajbhar, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, echoed these sentiments, suggesting that Gandhi’s candidacy would not pose a threat to the NDA coalition. “No one has an objection to Rahul Gandhi being a candidate. However, the Congress party’s current seat count will likely dwindle in the coming days,” he noted.

Bihar minister Shravan Kumar added, “Just as Tejashwi Yadav was set to become Chief Minister in Bihar but failed, the Indi bloc aims to similarly sideline Rahul Gandhi. We have no objections to that.”

In contrast, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar defended Gandhi’s potential candidacy, stating, “In Delhi’s political landscape, all parties come together to make decisions. Our Indi Alliance will collectively decide on the Prime Ministerial face.”

The political landscape remains charged as the 2029 elections approach, with both sides gearing up for a fierce battle.
