New Delhi, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : The atmosphere within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is buoyant following the recent results of the Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) elections. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) secured victories in three out of four major positions, a result the BJP interprets as a sign of youth confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
In response to the election outcomes, BJP MP Sat Sharma from Srinagar remarked, “A positive change is occurring in the country. People recognize that the ABVP is a student organization that consistently engages with students, addressing their issues.” He highlighted the failure of the Congress party, noting that despite their efforts, they did not win a single seat.
Delhi MP Praveen Khandelwal echoed this sentiment, calling the results a decisive blow to the opposition. “This outcome has exposed the entire opposition. The ABVP’s victories clearly demonstrate the trust that the youth and students have in Prime Minister Modi. Under his leadership, the country is progressing, while opposition parties seem focused solely on creating a negative atmosphere for their political gain,” he stated.
BJP leader T.R. Srinivasan from Hyderabad also took a jab at Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Students’ Echo’ initiative, linking it to the DUSU results. “Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Students’ Echo’ is not being heard in Delhi. We saw the DUSU election results yesterday,” he said, criticizing the relevance of foreign institutions where Gandhi’s supporters may have studied.
Srinivasan further emphasized the ABVP’s success, noting that while the opposition raised concerns about Modi’s leadership, the election results reflected students’ continued trust in him. “In this context, there’s an old song that fits Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi perfectly: ‘The heart’s desires have drowned in tears.’ They should keep humming it, as it encapsulates their true situation,” he concluded.
