Amritsar, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Congress MP from Amritsar, recently shared his thoughts on the results of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections and the performance of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI). In an interview, he accepted the election results with composure, stating that victories and defeats are part of the democratic process.
Responding to questions about the setbacks faced by the NSUI in the elections, Aujla emphasized that students and voters make their choices based on their understanding. He stressed the importance of accepting the public’s mandate with humility, regardless of whether the results favor or oppose a party. He affirmed that a political and democratic organization must always respect the people’s decisions and continue to address student issues.
During the conversation, Aujla also criticized the state government for the current situation in Punjab and the deteriorating law and order. He highlighted the alarming rise in attacks on police and security personnel, as well as incidents involving grenades. He attributed the troubling state of affairs to weak leadership and administrative failures, which have emboldened criminals. Aujla insisted that the police must diligently perform their duties and that lawbreakers should face the harshest penalties under the law.
In relation to the International Day of Peace, Aujla spoke about the significance of maintaining peace and harmony in today’s world. He pointed out that, whether regarding global tensions or societal issues, everyone must foster inner peace and work together to promote harmony in the community.
