BJP Aims to Regain Power in Karnataka by 2028, Says Harish Dwivedi

Harish Dwivedi outlines BJPs strategy for the 2028 Karnataka elections, criticizing Congress for corruption and public neglect.

Bengaluru, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : Harish Dwivedi, the Karnataka BJP in-charge and national general secretary, announced on November 3 that the party is committed to regaining power in the state by 2028. Speaking in Bengaluru, he emphasized that the BJP would work collectively to achieve this goal.

Dwivedi criticized the Congress government, accusing it of being involved in corruption and ignoring the issues faced by ordinary citizens over the past three and a half years. He claimed that the public is aware of how Congress leaders, legislators, and ministers are exploiting the state.

He also condemned the recent increases in the prices of milk and yogurt, noting an almost ₹8 per liter hike in milk prices. According to Dwivedi, Congress is indifferent to the needs of the general populace, focusing instead on the welfare of its leaders and the Gandhi family.

On Monday, Dwivedi participated in meetings with party officials and the core committee alongside state president B.Y. Vijayendra. He described these gatherings as “introductory meetings” aimed at understanding the party’s organizational structure and discussing steps to enhance its activity.

Additionally, Dwivedi met with senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Tuesday to seek his guidance. He highlighted Yediyurappa’s effective leadership during both ruling and opposition roles in Karnataka.

Addressing queries regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, Dwivedi clarified that this process has been conducted since the times of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi. He explained that SIR aims to remove deceased voters from the list and rectify duplicate entries.

Dwivedi accused Congress of blaming the Election Commission and electronic voting machines (EVMs) for its electoral losses instead of engaging in self-reflection. He asserted that the party disrespects constitutional institutions and prioritizes the Gandhi family.

He noted that voters are aware of Congress’s behavior, citing the recent victories of BJP-NDA candidates in all four seats of the Karnataka Assembly. This significant win, supported by voters, teachers, and graduates, sends a clear message.

When asked about the ongoing BJP-JD(S) alliance, Dwivedi stated that it remains intact and is progressing well. However, he clarified that decisions regarding the alliance would be made by the party’s senior leadership, and he has no authority to make announcements on the matter.
