Sheikhpura, July 17: A public grievance redressal event, known as ‘Janata Darbar’, was held at the District Magistrate’s office in Sheikhpura, Bihar, on Friday. Under the leadership of District Magistrate Shekhar Anand, a significant number of villagers attended to voice their concerns.
Among the attendees, many were elderly and in need. A total of 43 applications were received, prompting the District Magistrate to instruct relevant officials to take swift action.
The District Magistrate listened attentively to each complaint and gathered information about the issues raised. He directed officials to ensure that all applications are resolved within a stipulated timeframe and with quality service, so residents do not have to repeatedly visit government offices for their grievances.
He emphasized that the primary goal of the administration is to provide timely justice to the public and to ensure they benefit from government schemes. The district administration is committed to this mission.
The majority of complaints at the Janata Darbar revolved around land disputes, pensions, social security schemes, and basic amenities. Ramakant Singh from Pinjri village reported receiving insufficient rations under the public distribution system. The District Magistrate instructed the concerned officer to investigate and submit a report promptly.
Additionally, directives were issued for measuring land, recording account details and area in land documents, resolving land revenue issues, preventing illegal land encroachments, and addressing other land-related matters.
Applications related to old-age pensions, disability pensions, provision of tricycles, and benefits from the nurturing scheme for Chandni Patel were also presented. The District Magistrate instructed the officials of the relevant departments to investigate pending applications and expedite their processing. He warned that negligence by officials would lead to appropriate action.
Moreover, directives were given for installing new hand pumps, providing electricity poles and wires for irrigation, constructing playgrounds in schools, addressing housing issues, registering FIRs, and removing obstructions from public pathways.
The District Magistrate also called for action on matters concerning the issuance of death certificates, education loan schemes for students, loan waivers, and maintenance-related issues.
The ‘Respect for All, Simplifying Life’ program attracted a large number of people from remote areas, reflecting a growing trust in the administration as they seek solutions to their problems.
Present at the event were Additional Collector (Investigation) Sanjay Kumar, District Public Grievance Redressal Officer and Janata Darbar in-charge Dharmendra Kumar, along with several district-level officials and staff.
