Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives of Mother and Son in Bihar

Patna, August 29: A tragic road accident in Muzaffarpur district, Bihar, claimed the lives of a mother and her son on Saturday. The incident occurred on NH-27 near Thikapahi, close to the Benibad police station area. The station house officer confirmed the details of this fatal accident.

Initial reports indicate that the car carrying Madhu Srivastava and her son Puneet Srivastava lost control and collided with a roadside culvert. The impact caused the vehicle to veer off the road and plunge into a ditch.

Madhu Srivastava, a resident of Simri in Darbhanga, died at the scene. She was a teacher at Singhwara High School in Darbhanga. Her son Puneet sustained severe injuries in the accident.

Following the crash, locals gathered at the site and initiated rescue efforts to free those trapped in the damaged vehicle. Puneet was rushed to a hospital for treatment. However, due to the severity of his condition, doctors referred him to another facility for advanced care. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Upon receiving the news, the Benibad police arrived at the accident site to assess the situation. They spoke with local residents to gather information about the circumstances leading to the crash.

Legal proceedings have commenced, and the bodies have been taken into custody for further legal action and post-mortem examinations. Police indicated that the accident likely resulted from the vehicle losing control at high speed. However, a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact causes of the incident.

A police officer from Benibad station stated that the family of the deceased has been informed about this tragic event. After the post-mortem, the bodies will be handed over to the family for final rites.

The deaths of the mother and son have plunged their family and relatives into deep mourning.
