Bihar Deputy CM Launches Land Reform Dialogue, Takes Strict Action Against Corruption

Gaya, January 28: Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has initiated a Land Reform Public Welfare Dialogue aimed at resolving long-standing issues related to land, unnecessary delays, and public grievances. The impact of this initiative is now visible as the Deputy CM participated in the dialogue programme held in Bodh Gaya, Gaya district, on Wednesday.

Deputy CM Sinha announced that during his first 100 days in office, the department will conduct public dialogues at the division and district levels. If problems persist, such programmes will be extended to the regional level. He emphasized that this initiative is providing genuine feedback and helping chart a path for permanent solutions to land-related challenges.

Highlighting the importance of prioritizing service, he urged officials to resolve matters related to soldiers and police personnel without any time constraints. The Deputy CM also clarified that all departmental services are now fully online. He specified clear timelines for resolving cases under the ‘Parimaarjan Plus’ scheme introduced on December 14: corrections of clerical errors such as name, father’s name, and area will be completed in 15 working days; rectifications related to account, khesra, revenue, and technical errors will be addressed within 35 working days; while special and complex cases will be resolved within a maximum of 75 working days.

Deputy CM Sinha reaffirmed a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption within the department. Prompt action was taken against employees involved in bribery cases in Masaurhi and Araria, resulting in their dismissal and suspension.

Regarding issues with old documents written in Kaithi script, a panel of 31 experts has been formed to translate these records at a fixed rate, aiming to alleviate difficulties faced by common people. Furthermore, every Saturday, public grievance sessions will be held at regional offices instead of police stations, with the station in-charge personally present to address concerns.

The dialogue programme was also attended by senior officials from the department and district administration, who immediately worked towards resolving people’s problems during the event.
