Mumbai, September 1: Actress Bhumi Pednekar recently visited the renowned Achleshwar Mahadev Temple in Gwalior, where she offered prayers to Lord Shiva. She shared glimpses of her spiritual journey on social media.
On Monday, Bhumi posted several pictures and videos related to her temple visit on her official Instagram account. She was seen participating in the aarti of Lord Shiva and chanting mantras with a japa mala in the temple premises.
Discussing the significance of the Achleshwar Mahadev Temple, Bhumi wrote, “Har-Har Mahadev… Praying for peace everywhere.” The temple, believed to be around 750 years old, is famous for its self-manifested Shiva Lingam.
She also shared the legend behind the temple’s name. According to Bhumi, the Shiva Lingam appeared near a banyan tree. Attempts by ancient kings to relocate it were unsuccessful.
She explained, “Excavation was done around the Lingam, but only water was found, and the Lingam remained untouched. Every possible effort was made, even using elephants to try and pull it out, but the Lingam did not budge. Chains broke, and all attempts failed, leaving the Lingam in its place. This is why it is called Achleshwar, meaning the God who cannot be moved.”
Bhumi expressed that it is challenging to describe the spiritual energy and peace present in the temple. She stated, “It is not easy to explain what one feels standing there. There is a unique sense of peace, strength, and energy.”
On the professional front, Bhumi Pednekar has recently received acclaim for her performance in the Prime Video web series “Daldal,” based on the popular novel “Bhendi Bazaar” by writer Vish Dhamija.
In the near future, she will be seen in a romantic comedy film alongside actor Imran Khan.
