Arvind Kejriwal Urges Gujarat Voters to Reject BJP and Congress

Gandhinagar, March 8: Arvind Kejriwal, the convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), urged the people of Gujarat on Sunday to reject both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress. He emphasized the need for a complete overhaul of the political system, stating, “The state requires more than just a change from one party to another.”

Speaking at a rally in Gandhinagar as part of the ‘Change is Coming, Save Farmers’ campaign, Kejriwal called for the establishment of a ‘people’s government’ in Gujarat that can make independent decisions.

He asserted that this time, a government formed by the people will take its own decisions. “We must not only change the ruling party but also transform the entire system for Gujarat’s progress,” he added.

Kejriwal mentioned that AAP leaders, including Yashu Bhai, Praveen Ram, and Manoj Sorathia, visited villages and neighborhoods over the past 10 to 12 days after offering prayers at the Somnath Temple. They engaged with farmers, which led them to the rally in Gandhinagar.

According to Kejriwal, this tour revealed widespread distress among farmers. He claimed, “Wherever we went, we found that farmers in Gujarat are unhappy and troubled. In some areas, there is a lack of drinking water, while in others, irrigation water is scarce. Prices for everything have risen, and farmers are not receiving fair prices for their crops.”

He criticized the BJP’s three decades of governance in Gujarat, stating that farmers, youth, and traders have seen no benefits. “Only the leaders of BJP and Congress are thriving. They are running a joint business,” he alleged.

Comparing the two parties, Kejriwal noted that their leaders do not allow their children to enter politics. He claimed that AAP will provide opportunities to candidates from ordinary families rather than political dynasties.

He called on farmers to oppose the BJP in the upcoming elections, asserting that the goal of the political contest should be to bring about a change in the state’s governance system.
