New Delhi, April 26: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu met with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday in New Delhi, urging for the swift development of border infrastructure in the state. The Defense Minister assured that the proposed projects would be reviewed and prioritized for implementation.
An official from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) reported that Khandu sought continuous support to strengthen vital infrastructure in the border state. Expressing gratitude on behalf of the state’s residents, Khandu noted the unprecedented infrastructure development in Arunachal Pradesh, particularly in border districts. This progress has not only enhanced security along international borders but also improved the living standards of local inhabitants.
During the meeting, Khandu discussed the connectivity needs of the state in detail, focusing on the strategic Anjaw-Likabali-Bame corridor, which includes a crucial bridge over the Taro Tamak River. It is noteworthy that most parts of this strategic road project are being executed by the Border Roads Organization (BRO). The CMO official stated that the Defense Minister assured Khandu that all proposals and projects in Arunachal Pradesh would be taken seriously.
In a statement on Sunday evening, Khandu expressed gratitude for Rajnath Singh’s unwavering support for the development of border infrastructure and the transformation of forward areas in Arunachal Pradesh.

He expressed appreciation for Singh’s steadfast support towards the development of border infrastructure and the transformation of forward areas in Arunachal Pradesh.
Arunachal Pradesh shares a 1,080-kilometer border with China, a 520-kilometer border with Myanmar, and a 217-kilometer border with Bhutan.
