Patna, May 26: The Indian Railways has approved the Kiul-Jhajha third line project on the Howrah-Delhi corridor, with an investment of ₹962 crore for a 54-kilometer stretch. This initiative aims to enhance capacity, improve operational efficiency, and ensure seamless rail transport.

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this development.

On the social media platform X, CM Chaudhary shared, “A significant gift for Bihar’s rail passengers. I am pleased to announce that the central government has approved the construction of the third railway line between Kiul and Jhajha. This project will be completed at a cost of ₹961.71 crore. My heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.”

He further stated that this crucial project will strengthen rail infrastructure in Bihar, facilitate smoother traffic, boost industry and commerce, and contribute to the state’s economic progress. Under the double-engine government, Bihar is consistently advancing on the path of development.

The project is a vital part of the Indian Railways’ heavily trafficked network, expected to enhance passenger and freight movement between Eastern and Northern India.

It is claimed that the Kiul-Jhajha third line project will significantly increase transport capacity on the Howrah-Delhi corridor, improving the punctuality of rail services and operational capabilities.

The additional rail line will ensure the smooth movement of passenger and freight trains, aiding industrial growth and commercial connectivity in the region.

The proposed 54-kilometer third line project will notably enhance the line’s capacity, reduce congestion, and ensure the efficient movement of passenger and freight trains. This project will also strengthen the connection between Patna and Kolkata, facilitating smoother freight transport between major industrial and logistics hubs in Northern and Eastern India.
