Tragic Discovery: Two Minor Girls Found Dead in Waterlogged Pit in Madhya Pradesh

Damoh, September 2: A shocking incident has unfolded in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh, where the bodies of two young girls were discovered near a village. According to police reports, the minors had been reported missing earlier. They were found dead in a water-filled pit close to their home just hours later.

The incident occurred in Tiwari village. The deceased have been identified as Mansi, the 11-year-old daughter of Santosh Singh, and Kavya, the 6-year-old daughter of Pappu Singh.

Police stated that the girls went missing around 5 PM on Tuesday. Their family searched the village and surrounding areas but could not locate them, prompting them to alert the police. Archana Ahir, the Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) in Tendukheda, reported that a search team was quickly formed upon receiving the missing persons report. This team, along with family members and local residents, scoured the nearby area.

Around 10 PM, sandals belonging to the girls were spotted near a deep, water-filled pit in a field in front of their home. When searchers illuminated the pit with a flashlight, they discovered the bodies of both girls submerged in the water. Subsequently, police and local residents retrieved the bodies from the pit. The remains were transported to the Jabera health center for post-mortem examination.

SDOP Archana Ahir confirmed, “During the search, the bodies of both girls were found in the waterlogged pit in front of their home.” She added that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

Authorities revealed that Kavya was originally from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and had come to Tiwari to celebrate Raksha Bandhan at her uncle Vinod Singh’s house. Vinod Singh recounted that the girls suddenly went missing around 5 PM, leading the family to search the vicinity before notifying the police.

So far, no family member has expressed suspicion regarding the circumstances of the deaths. Investigators are questioning family members and local residents to determine how the girls reached the pit and the conditions surrounding their tragic demise.
