
New Delhi, May 22: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has praised the all-women team of the Border Security Force (BSF) for their remarkable achievement under ‘Mission Vande Mataram.’ The team successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest, showcasing the indomitable spirit of women power.
In a post on the social media platform X, Amit Shah expressed, “The strength of women has proven the invincible power of the BSF. My heartfelt congratulations to the entire female mountaineering team that made history by climbing Mount Everest. Celebrating the force’s Diamond Jubilee, they achieved victory on the world’s highest peak and sang ‘Vande Mataram,’ setting a unique example of courage, patriotism, and dedication. I salute all team members.”
The first full-fledged all-women BSF Everest expedition team has made history with their unparalleled courage and determination. They successfully climbed Mount Everest as part of ‘Mission Vande Mataram.’
The team included Constable Kausar Fatima from Ladakh, Constable Munmun Ghosh from West Bengal, Constable Rebeka Singh from Uttarakhand, and Constable Tsering Chorol from Kargil. They completed their ascent at 8 AM on Thursday, reaching the height of 8,848.86 meters. This extraordinary achievement symbolizes the BSF’s unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment, national pride, and excellence.
The BSF posted on X, “Celebrating the Diamond Jubilee year, these ‘women border sentinels’ have carried the spirit of ‘Vande Mataram’ to the world’s highest peak. At such heights, where most people require oxygen support and standing upright is a challenge, they sang ‘Vande Mataram’ in an unwavering voice, establishing a historic milestone that reflects the strength, resilience, and indomitable spirit of ‘nari shakti’ (women power).”
