Amit Shah Joins Ganesh Festival Celebrations in Ahmedabad, Funds to Support Pregnant Women Initiative

Ahmedabad, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Central Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel attended the grand aarti of the Ganeshotsav at Vastrapur on September 17. The event featured an eight-foot clay idol of Lord Ganesh, set against a backdrop inspired by the ghats of Kashi.

Both leaders visited the beautifully decorated pandal near Vastrapur Lake and offered prayers for the prosperity of the citizens. They also participated in the aarti and reviewed the arrangements made for the festival.

For the past 41 years, this Ganeshotsav has been organized by the Sardar Patel Sevadal at Vastrapur Lake, featuring different themes and decorations each year. The festival draws large crowds from Ahmedabad.

According to the organizers, any surplus funds collected during the festival will be allocated to the ‘Riddhi-Siddhi Pregnant Women Scheme.’ This initiative has already distributed over 15,000 nutritious food kits to pregnant women, with expenditures exceeding one crore rupees.

Shah and Patel praised the decoration of the pandal, emphasizing the Kashi ghat theme.

Also present were Ahmedabad Mayor Hitesh Barot, city BJP president Prerak Shah, and other dignitaries, along with a significant number of devotees. Earlier, Chief Minister Patel attended another Ganeshotsav event in his Ghatlodia constituency, where he worshipped at the Ganesh pandal in Tarun Nagar-2, Memnagar.

During this event, a special rangoli depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi was created to celebrate his birthday, which was also marked with the lighting of lamps. Patel admired the rangoli and greeted attendees, engaging with children as well.

The celebrations in Memnagar also saw the presence of various social and political leaders, including Mayor Barot and BJP president Shah.
