Over 100 Senior Citizens and Differently-Abled Individuals Receive Aid on PM Modis Birthday in Tripura

Agartala, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : On September 17, 2026, a social empowerment camp in Agartala, Tripura, celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday by distributing various aids to over 100 senior citizens and differently-abled individuals. The event featured the distribution of tricycles and other essential support items.

Addressing the gathering in Mohanpur, state Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath emphasized that under Modi’s leadership, the benefits of development will reach every segment of society, ensuring that no one is left behind. The camp was organized as part of the central government’s National Old Age Pension Scheme and the Assistance Scheme for Differently-Abled Persons, specifically in the South Taranagar Gram Panchayat area.

Minister Nath highlighted that the Modi government focuses not only on sympathy for differently-abled individuals but also on their empowerment. He noted that the term “differently-abled” reflects their capabilities and dignity, advocating for their encouragement towards self-reliance and a respectable life.

He stressed the need for social sensitivity and collective responsibility to ensure that government schemes benefit every citizen. Nath remarked on Modi’s journey from humble beginnings to a prominent public figure, marking nearly 25 years in public service since becoming the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

The minister also referenced various central government initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, and the Swachh Bharat Mission, as key efforts in improving citizens’ lives. He stated that through Jan Dhan accounts, beneficiaries now receive government assistance directly in their bank accounts, reducing reliance on intermediaries.

Highlighting the Ujjwala scheme, Nath mentioned its role in providing LPG connections to women and families, alongside the Swachh Bharat Mission’s promotion of cleanliness. He concluded by stating that the government is committed to implementing welfare schemes that ensure the benefits of development reach every individual in society, including senior citizens and differently-abled persons.
