Beijing, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : President Xi Jinping recently delivered significant directives aimed at bolstering the development of China’s advanced manufacturing sector. Speaking at the Chinese National Advanced Manufacturing Conference held in Beijing from September 16 to 17, he noted that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party in 2012, the advanced manufacturing industry has consistently evolved and gained strength.
Xi emphasized that there has been a remarkable increase in innovation capacity, competitiveness, and overall strength within the sector. He stated that China is making solid progress toward becoming a manufacturing powerhouse.
The president called for the implementation of new development ideas guided by the principles of socialism with Chinese characteristics. He stressed the importance of achieving a better balance between high-quality development and high-level security. Additionally, he urged a focus on intelligence, green development, and integration within the manufacturing industry.
Xi highlighted the need to continuously strengthen and expand the advanced manufacturing sector. He called for enhancing the autonomy and controllability of industrial chains and accelerating the establishment of a modern industrial system based on advanced manufacturing. This, he said, would solidify the foundation of the real economy and provide robust support for advancing modernization in the Chinese context.
During the conference, Premier Li Qiang also delivered a speech, reiterating the importance of Xi’s directives. He explained that the guidelines provide clear direction and major tasks for the development of the advanced manufacturing industry. Li emphasized the necessity of studying and implementing these directives earnestly, viewing the advancement of this sector as a crucial strategic task requiring sustained effort.
In his closing remarks, Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing stressed the importance of deeply understanding and executing the spirit of Xi’s directives. He underscored the need to enhance the market mechanism’s role and expedite the creation of a high-quality standard system. Zhang also pointed out the importance of eliminating disordered competition, actively assisting enterprises with genuine difficulties, and fostering a better business environment for the development of the advanced manufacturing industry.
