Ahmedabad, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Central Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in a series of religious and public events in Ahmedabad on September 17, 2026. The celebrations marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and his 25 years of public service, coinciding with the launch of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ across the state.
The leaders attended a grand ‘Maha Aarti’ at the famous Jagannath Temple, seeking blessings from Lord Jagannath. They prayed for the Prime Minister’s good health and longevity during this significant occasion.
The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ was inaugurated statewide, featuring numerous programs and welfare initiatives aimed at benefiting citizens. Special prayers were held at the Jagannath Temple for the welfare of the state’s residents.
Attendees at the Maha Aarti included Urban Development Minister Darshana Jardosh, Ahmedabad East MP Hasmukh Patel, Mayor Hitesh Barot, and several local legislators and BJP officials. Many devotees and party workers also joined the event.
Later, Shah and Patel attended the ‘Ek Deepak Aashirwad No’ program at Kankaria Lakefront. The venue was beautifully illuminated with approximately 125,000 lamps as part of the celebrations for the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.’ A large crowd gathered to participate in the festivities, holding lamps and joining in the prayers for Mother India.
The Kankaria event also saw participation from state ministers, local legislators, former MP Harin Pathak, Deputy Mayor Anju Shah, and various municipal officials. This celebration was part of a series of events held throughout Gujarat in honor of Prime Minister Modi’s birthday and his 25 years of dedicated service.
