New Delhi, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leader Rashid Alvi extended heartfelt birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, wishing him good health and a long life. While acknowledging their ideological differences, Alvi emphasized the need for the Prime Minister to unite the nation. He also strongly condemned any disrespectful language used against Modi.
Alvi stated, “He is the Prime Minister of the country. While we may disagree with him ideologically, I pray for his health and longevity. I hope he makes decisions for the public good rather than for his image. As long as he is Prime Minister, he should work to bring everyone together. Any derogatory remarks directed at the Prime Minister deserve condemnation. We have never supported the use of abusive or disrespectful language against any leader, including the Prime Minister or opposition leaders. No one can justify or endorse such language.”
On the occasion of PM Modi’s birthday, Alvi responded to the BJP’s appeal for citizens to light lamps, questioning whether party leaders understand the soaring prices of oil used for the lamps. He pointed out that rising costs are making it difficult for people to afford basic necessities, asking, “Where will the money come from for the poor to light lamps while they are struggling to eat?”
He added, “Today is PM Modi’s birthday, but I respectfully say that while lighting lamps may brighten a room, it does nothing to dispel the darkness in the hearts of the people. You have plunged the public into despair. Lighting these lamps will not make a difference.”
