New Delhi, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media platform X on Thursday to share a sacred mantra from the Rigveda, specifically the sixth verse of the 89th hymn from the first mandal. The mantra reads: “Swasti na Indro Vriddhashravah. Swasti nah Pushah Vishvavedah. Swasti nastarkshyo Arishtanemih. Swasti no Brihaspatirdadhatu.”
In Hindi, this translates to a prayer for blessings from Indra, the deity of rain and thunderstorms, and for prosperity from Surya, the sun god. The mantra also invokes Garuda, the divine bird, for protection from obstacles and seeks wisdom and prosperity from Brihaspati, the guru of the gods.
