
Mumbai, June 15: Waris Pathan, the national spokesperson for the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has made a significant statement regarding the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2027. He emphasized that the party will enter the electoral fray with full strength and determination. Additionally, he expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident in Pandharpur, Maharashtra, calling for a fair investigation into the incident.
In an interview, Pathan mentioned that substantial changes could be expected in Uttar Pradesh’s political landscape in the near future. “Buckle up; the weather is about to change. Our party will contest the 2027 Assembly elections with vigor and enthusiasm. We have already begun strengthening our grassroots organization,” he stated.
Pathan also noted that AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi is currently on a tour of Uttar Pradesh, having reached Matera after visiting Lucknow and Bahraich, where a public meeting has been organized. He claimed that the party is receiving considerable support from the public at its rallies and is poised to make a strong impact in the upcoming elections.
During the conversation, Pathan reacted to the horrific road accident near Pandharpur in Solapur district, which resulted in the loss of eight lives and left several others injured. He described the incident as tragic and unfortunate, extending condolences to the families of the deceased. Pathan urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation into the causes of the accident and to make the findings public.
It is reported that on Sunday, a pickup van fell into a well near Tandulwadi village in Malshiras taluka of Solapur district, leading to the fatalities, which included four women and four children. The victims were returning to their village after visiting the Siddhnath temple in Mhaswad. Initial reports suggest that the vehicle’s brakes failed, causing the driver to lose control and plunge into the well.
Rescue teams from the police and administration promptly arrived at the scene to assist. The injured have been hospitalized for treatment. The area is currently enveloped in mourning, with leaders from various political parties expressing their condolences to the affected families.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took to social media platform ‘X’ to express his sorrow, stating, “The incident in Tandulwadi, Malshiras taluka of Solapur district, is extremely tragic and heart-wrenching, where some devotees lost their lives after their vehicle fell into a private well. I pay my heartfelt tribute to them. We share in the grief of their families. Fortunately, seven lives have been saved, and they are receiving medical care. The district collector and police superintendent have reached the site promptly, and we are in constant touch with the local administration. The state government will provide financial assistance of 500,000 rupees to the families of the deceased.”
