Hyderabad, August 29: Telangana’s Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced on Friday that the selection of beneficiaries for the Indiramma Towers in the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) area will be conducted transparently.
He stated that the Indiramma Towers are being constructed to fulfill the housing dreams of the poor in Greater Hyderabad, describing the project as a symbol of their dignity.
The minister clarified that eligibility is the sole criterion for selection, and the process is free from discrimination based on caste, religion, or politics.
For the first phase of the Indiramma Towers project in the CURE area, a completely transparent lucky draw is being held for the allocation of flats. This draw is taking place in the presence of the media and eligible beneficiaries, and the entire process is being streamed live on social media platforms.
On Friday, the lucky draw for Indiramma Towers flats was conducted for the constituencies of Nampally, Kuthbullapur, Secunderabad, and Rajendranagar. The minister announced that from today until August 31, lucky draws will be held for approximately 8,000 flats across 16 constituencies. He mentioned that the process will advance daily, covering four constituencies at a time.
The minister explained that for each constituency, 600 beneficiaries will be selected through the lucky draw for 480 flats. Following this, officials will conduct final field verifications. If any selected individual is found ineligible, the opportunity will be extended to the remaining 120 qualified candidates.
He reminded attendees that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the Indiramma Towers in Kukatpally’s KPHB Colony on August 13. The minister noted that the state government has swiftly issued tenders for the construction of Indiramma Towers across 16 constituencies and is also conducting lucky draws for beneficiary selection.
The government aims to build 100,000 homes in the first phase under the CURE initiative. The minister announced that the process of identifying land in four additional constituencies has been completed, and applications for Indiramma homes in these areas will be accepted until September 3.
He emphasized that poor families deserve to live with dignity, even in areas where land prices reach 100 crore, 200 crore, or 300 crore rupees per acre. The registration for eligible beneficiaries receiving homes in the Indiramma Towers will be done at no cost. He added that after ten years, beneficiaries will have the option to sell their homes if needed.
Additionally, he clarified that if an urgent need arises before that time, there will be an option to mortgage registration documents for obtaining loans from banks. Each selected beneficiary will receive a ready-made home of approximately 525 square feet.
Each unit will also include a land portion of 17 to 20 square yards. The minister announced that the Indiramma Towers will be constructed up to ten stories high in government-selected locations, equipped with lifts and other essential amenities.
He stated that the final selection of beneficiaries will occur after the lucky draw, followed by government verification and the issuance of certificates. He assured that steps will be taken to commence construction within 3-4 days. Beneficiaries will also have the opportunity to personally oversee the construction of their homes.
Srinivas Reddy mentioned that in the first year of the Congress government’s term, approval was granted for 450,000 Indiramma homes across the state, with over 200,000 homes already completed.
The minister noted that the state government is providing financial assistance of 500,000 rupees for each home in four installments, and payments for the last installment have already begun.
He revealed that approval has been granted for an additional 250,000 homes in the second phase, and the beneficiary selection process is being expedited. The minister hinted that the selection of beneficiaries for the second phase is expected to be completed within the next ten days.
