New Delhi, May 30: Amid ongoing concerns regarding the management of major entrance exams in the country, the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) faced significant delays on Saturday due to technical glitches at several examination centers. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a sharp critique against the central government and the Ministry of Education regarding this issue.
The party claims that the recent problems in CUET, following controversies surrounding NEET and CBSE exams, highlight the government’s failure to manage the education system effectively. Saurabh Bhardwaj, the Delhi state president, noted reports of technical issues from various parts of the country. He shared multiple images and reports on social media, stating that the exams could not commence on time in cities including Delhi, Noida, Ambala, Varanasi, Bengaluru, and Kanpur due to these glitches.
He emphasized that if some students receive their question papers on time while others are forced to wait for hours, it raises serious questions about the fairness of the examination process. Atishi, the leader of the opposition in the Delhi Assembly, also questioned the central government’s operational efficiency. She pointed out that chaos has been observed in NEET, CBSE, and now CUET exams. Millions of students arrived to take the exams, but due to technical failures, they had to wait outside the centers for hours. She referenced videos and images from various cities showing that servers were down at many centers, disrupting the examination process.
Atishi stated that images from examination centers in Delhi, Ambala, Varanasi, and Jodhpur depict the students’ struggles. According to her, this situation reflects the administrative incompetence of the central education minister and jeopardizes the future of students.
Anurag Dhanda, the national media in-charge of AAP, also criticized the central government. He mentioned that millions of students were called to the examination centers early in the morning, but the exams could not start on time due to technical issues. He accused the government of failing to ensure a smooth examination process, resulting in hardships for the students.
The technical obstacles faced during the CUET exam have reignited discussions about the transparency and preparedness of the education system. Opposition parties are demanding a fair investigation into the matter and accountability for the inconveniences faced by students. Meanwhile, millions of candidates and their parents are raising serious questions about the management of the examination.
