BJP Leader Calls for ED Investigation into Alleged Foreign Transactions in CMRL-Exalogic Case

Thiruvananthapuram, May 30: BJP leader Shawn George has approached the Enforcement Directorate (ED) demanding an investigation into alleged foreign financial transactions related to the CMRL-Exalogic monthly payment case. He claims that funds received by Exalogic Solutions may have been transferred through foreign bank accounts.

In a letter to the ED, George alleged that the money received by Exalogic Solutions from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) was sent to an account at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank in the United Arab Emirates.

He further alleged that this account was operated by Veena T., daughter of former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and Sunish M. George also claimed that funds from other entities, including SNC-Lavalin and PricewaterhouseCoopers, were deposited into this account, with a portion later transferred to accounts in the United States.

The BJP leader urged the ED to expand its ongoing investigation to include these alleged foreign bank accounts and international transactions.

In a conversation with the media, Shawn George stated that he received this information from a reliable source and emphasized the need for a thorough investigation.

It is noteworthy that the ED is already investigating the CMRL-Exalogic transaction case, which has implicated Veena T. However, there has been no immediate response from the parties involved regarding the new allegations.

Reports indicate that these claims have not been independently verified. Shawn George has been consistently raising questions about this matter for the past year, targeting Pinarayi Vijayan and his family on various public platforms.

Shawn George is the son of senior politician P.C. George. Both P.C. George and his son joined the BJP in 2024 and contested in the recent assembly elections. Although they finished third in their respective seats, their performance was considered to have made the competition more challenging.

During this period, legal disputes also emerged due to their aggressive campaign against the CPI(M) leadership. The police registered two cases against P.C. George, but he was granted bail in both instances.
