Raipur, June 17: Bhajan singer Kanhiya Lal Mittal expressed his satisfaction over the government’s decision to initiate a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the donation controversy surrounding the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He stated that anyone who has committed the sin of theft will surely face punishment.
During a private event in Raipur, Mittal emphasized that those who have done wrong must be held accountable. He praised the formation of the SIT for the Ram Temple case, noting that such swift action is unprecedented in matters concerning temples across the country. He acknowledged the seriousness with which both the Yogi and Modi governments are addressing the issue, asserting that misconduct within the temple is entirely unacceptable. Mittal insisted that anyone found guilty should receive the strictest punishment.
Supporting a statement made by storyteller Ram Bhadracharaya, Mittal agreed with the suggestion to rename Aligarh to Harigarh. He asserted that correcting historical narratives is a collective responsibility. He lamented that India is still viewed through the lens of Mughal rulers. He stated, “This country belongs to figures like Prithviraj Chauhan and Maharana Pratap, not Aurangzeb, Babur, or Akbar. Therefore, renaming Aligarh to Harigarh is not inappropriate.”
Mittal also raised concerns regarding love jihad, labeling it a significant issue for the Sanatan community. He urged serious attention to this matter, advocating for daughters to embody the strength of Durga and Kali, rather than adopting a burqa. He stressed the need for families to remain vigilant in this regard.
Furthermore, he appealed to the state government for a stringent anti-conversion law, asserting that Chhattisgarh is a Sanatani state. He urged for the swift enactment of strict laws, warning that conversions are eroding the Sanatani society like termites. He highlighted that there are only two countries in the world where Sanatani governance exists. He questioned, “If even two Sanatanis are lost, where will Hindus go?” He noted that while there are approximately 250 crore Christians globally, Hindus number around 100 crore, making it crucial to understand and uphold their faith for the future.
