AAP Protests Across Punjab, Accuses Opposition of Defaming CM Mann

Chandigarh, June 20: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organized widespread protests across Punjab on Saturday against the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), its president Sukhbir Singh Badal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress.

The party alleged that a misleading and fake video circulating on social media is part of a deliberate campaign to defame Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Ministers, legislators, leaders, and activists from AAP took to the streets throughout Punjab, accusing opposition parties of misusing religion, spreading false propaganda, and plotting to mislead the public while hindering the state’s progress.

From Faridkot, Barnala, and Mansa to Kapurthala, Moga, and Badal village, protesters raised their voices against what they termed anti-Punjab and anti-Sikh forces.

The party stated that while the opposition has engaged in hate-mongering, misinformation, and self-serving politics, CM Mann has earned the trust of the people through transparent governance, job creation, quality education, welfare schemes, and development-oriented politics.

Protesters emphasized that the public has repeatedly rejected divisive politics and will not allow any schemes to tarnish the CM’s image or disrupt the peace, harmony, and progress of the state.

Addressing a protest rally in Mohali, Cabinet Minister Harpal Cheema stated that AAP has organized symbolic protests across Punjab against SAD’s anti-Sikh and anti-Punjab activities, as well as their repeated attempts to disrupt peace and harmony in the state.

He noted that AAP workers took to the streets not only in Mohali but across Punjab to register their opposition against such forces. According to him, the people of Punjab are fully aware of these conspiracies and will not allow those who have repeatedly harmed the state’s interests to succeed.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, Cheema remarked that under CM Mann’s leadership, Punjab is witnessing unprecedented development. The government has transparently provided nearly 44,000 government jobs to the youth of Punjab. Sports fields are being established in villages to channel the energy of the youth in the right direction. Ongoing construction and repair work on approximately 45,000 kilometers of roads is underway. Children in government schools are receiving quality, world-class education, and every household benefits from 300 units of free electricity each month.

Cheema further stated that these historic developmental efforts have alarmed opposition parties. Unable to digest the rapid progress in Punjab, SAD has resorted to cheap politics. They have made a desperate attempt to tarnish our Chief Minister’s clean image by creating and spreading a fabricated and fake video on social media. This reflects the desperation of political forces that have lost public support and are desperately trying to regain relevance by spreading misinformation.
