A Moment of Joy: Home Minister Amit Shahs Visit to Bastar

New Delhi, May 22: Home Minister Amit Shah recently visited Chhattisgarh, where he participated in several events. He chaired a meeting of the Central Regional Council and later met with tribal communities in Bastar, an area once known for Naxalite activities. During this visit, he shared a heartwarming moment with a young girl, describing it as a delightful experience.

While inaugurating the Gunda Dhur Seva Dera in the village of Netanar, Shah observed a glimmer of hope on the faces of the tribal brothers and sisters. He expressed that working with sensitivity in politics brings him more satisfaction than addressing large crowds. The joy he felt among 400 tribal individuals was unparalleled.

Shah recounted hearing a girl exclaim, “Now we are safe,” which brought him immense joy that was difficult to put into words. This moment was shared on his social media account, where he noted, “When a little girl tells me ‘we are safe’ after Bastar has become free from Naxalism, that happiness surpasses countless joys.”

The Home Minister was in Bastar to attend the Central Regional Council meeting. He remarked that it was a matter of pride to hold this meeting in Jagdalpur, an area that once faced the shadow of red terror. He highlighted that there are now no disputes among the member states of the Central Regional Council, marking a significant achievement.

Shah further stated that the entire region is not only free from Naxalism but also from controversies. The meeting included meaningful discussions on critical issues such as eliminating malnutrition, reducing school dropout rates, ensuring 100% convictions in sexual offenses, and establishing a state-level cyber helpline.
