Brezza Facelift

Mumbai, February 28, 2026 (Daily Kiran): Maruti Suzuki India is set to update some of its models this year with new fuel options, including the facelifted version of its popular SUV, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The new 2026 Brezza is expected to be launched in the coming months and has been spotted multiple times during testing.

According to reports, the facelift model will feature a new underbody CNG cylinder along with additional engine options. It is also expected to receive a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine sourced from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Underbody CNG Cylinder

The company is preparing a major update for the second-generation Brezza. Although the prototype was heavily camouflaged during road testing, certain details were visible. A CNG sticker was seen on the rear glass of the test mule. The person who recorded the vehicle claimed that the CNG tank was placed under the body instead of inside the boot, helping free up luggage space.

If introduced in the production model, this setup could address the long-standing boot space issue seen in traditional CNG cars and provide a competitive edge in the segment.

Design and Features

While no major changes to the sheet metal are expected, slight updates could be seen in the tail lamp cluster and alloy wheel design. The test vehicle also showed a shark-fin antenna and an integrated spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp.

There are also indications that the facelifted Brezza may offer a Level 2 ADAS system. Although no sensors were clearly visible due to the camouflage, such a feature would strengthen its position against rivals offering lane support and collision mitigation technologies. Earlier this year, the Brezza was updated with six airbags and other safety features as standard.

Engine Options

Mechanically, the SUV is expected to continue with the 1.5-litre K15C four-cylinder engine. The petrol version is likely to retain its 102 bhp and 137 Nm output, while the factory-fitted CNG variant may continue with 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm. Both versions are expected to come with a manual gearbox, while the petrol variant may also offer a 6-speed automatic option.
