Gorakhpur, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a gathering in Gorakhpur on September 16, emphasizing the restoration of law and order in the state. He criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress for their alleged negligence towards the law enforcement and health infrastructure during their tenures.
During his visit to inaugurate several development projects, including the ‘Kalyan Mandapam’, Adityanath highlighted the positive changes that have occurred since his administration took charge in 2017 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
He asserted, “Today, we witness the development made possible by a change in power.” Adityanath pointed out that a secure environment is crucial for public participation in events. “If criminals roam freely, how can people attend programs?” he asked.
The Chief Minister declared, “Law reigns in the state, and it is free from riots and curfews. Criminals are either imprisoned or eliminated. No one can threaten openly, kidnap anyone, or extort money from traders.” He assured that the necessary infrastructure for safety has been established, allowing citizens to travel without fear.
Adityanath also mentioned the revival of a fertilizer factory that had been shut down during previous administrations. He lamented that many children lost their lives to encephalitis due to the prior government’s failures. Notably, he recalled that during this crisis, he had to protest as an MP to draw attention to the plight of affected families at Gorakhpur’s BRD Medical College.
He praised Prime Minister Modi for entrusting him with the Chief Minister role, stating that within two years, they eradicated the disease that had plagued the region for 40 years. “Both encephalitis and the mafia have been eliminated from the state,” he noted.
The CM highlighted the transformation of Ramgarh Tal, once a hub of crime and filth, which now attracts visitors from across the country and beyond. He attributed the previous conditions to the poor governance of the SP and Congress.
Adityanath intensified his criticism of the SP, claiming that job vacancies were often exploited by their syndicates, leaving many youths unemployed. He described the chaotic environment under the previous government, which lacked a clear vision. “Today, Uttar Pradesh contributes to India’s economic growth, with over 500 industries established in Gorakhpur alone,” he concluded.
