Delhi police have filed an FIR against Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for unlawfully entering Akashvani Bhavan during a protest.

New Delhi, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : Delhi police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and other opposition leaders from the ‘INDIA’ coalition for allegedly trespassing at Akashvani Bhavan. This action follows complaints received by the police regarding the incident.
On Tuesday, during a protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Rahul Gandhi and other MPs gathered at the premises of Akashvani Bhavan. They were marching towards the Election Commission‘s office, voicing their opposition to the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of voter lists and demanding Kumar’s resignation.
After being prevented from advancing by police, opposition leaders initially sat on the road to continue their demonstration. Rahul Gandhi and Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee were seen climbing over police barricades. Despite police efforts to stop them, Congress leaders and other protesters managed to enter the Akashvani Bhavan complex through the main gate.
During the protests, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and other MPs were halted near Parliament Street, close to Akashvani Bhavan and the Niti Aayog office. Later, they were spotted sitting under a tree inside the complex along with Congress MP Deepender Hooda.
Authorities had previously warned that the protest would not be allowed to continue overnight at Akashvani Bhavan. Protesters were instructed to leave the premises, with police stating that those who refused would be detained.
Eventually, police took Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and other leaders from the ‘INDIA’ bloc into custody during the protest. However, they were released a few hours later.
