Yogi Adityanath Critiques Opposition at Somnath Festival in Varanasi

Varanasi, May 11: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a strong attack on the opposition during the ‘Somnath Sankalp Mahotsav’ held in Varanasi as part of the Somnath Swabhimaan Parv. He emphasized the significance of Sanatan, cultural heritage, and temple restoration.

The Chief Minister stated that foreign invaders, from Muhammad Ghori to Mughal rulers, attempted to erase India’s spiritual and cultural identity, but they could never extinguish the soul of India and its Sanatan consciousness.

He remarked that Aurangzeb destroyed the ancient Baba Vishwanath temple and established a framework of slavery, yet he could not break the spirit of India. Sanatan is not confined to temple walls; it resides in the consciousness and soul of India.

CM Yogi asserted, “Those who tried to erase Sanatan have now turned to dust. Today, no one remembers those invaders, but Kashi Vishwanath Dham and Somnath Mahadev Temple continue to advance the saga of India’s pride and cultural glory.”

He praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, stating that under his guidance, the vision of ‘One India, Great India’ is becoming a reality. From the restoration and beautification of the Somnath Temple to the development of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Mahakal Mahalok in Ujjain, and the construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, the nation’s sacred pilgrimage sites are embarking on a new journey of development while reclaiming their ancient glory. The driving force behind these initiatives is Prime Minister Modi, and the people of Uttar Pradesh are grateful for his efforts.

Without naming anyone, CM Yogi criticized the opposition, lamenting that some forces still do not wish to see India’s self-respect and cultural symbols flourish. These are the same individuals who have consistently tried to obstruct the restoration of the Somnath Temple and the construction of the Shri Ram Temple.

Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Anandiben Patel visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, performing rituals and prayers for the prosperity of the state. Tight security measures were in place at the temple complex. During the event held at the Trayambakeshwar auditorium, students welcomed the guests with conch shell sounds and Vedic chants.
