Xi Jinping Proposes Four-Point Plan for Middle East Peace During Meeting with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince

Beijing, April 14: Chinese President Xi Jinping has unveiled a four-point proposal aimed at fostering peace and stability in the Middle East. This announcement came after his meeting with Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, who is currently visiting China.

According to the Xinhua News Agency, Xi emphasized the necessity of adhering to the principle of peaceful coexistence to maintain peace in the region. He advocated for the establishment of a shared, comprehensive, and sustainable security framework for the Middle East and Gulf region.

Xi elaborated on each of the four principles. The first principle is linked to the commitment to “peaceful coexistence.” He stated that Gulf countries are close neighbors who cannot be separated from one another. It is crucial to support these nations in enhancing their relationships and to work towards creating a shared, cooperative, and sustainable security framework for the region, thereby strengthening the foundation of peaceful coexistence.

The second principle focuses on the adherence to “national sovereignty.” Xi asserted that sovereignty is the basis for existence and prosperity for all countries, especially developing nations, and must not be violated.

The third principle emphasizes the importance of respecting international law. Xi highlighted the significance of adhering to international legal principles to prevent a return to a world dominated by power struggles and to avoid descending into “the law of the jungle” (chaos).

The fourth principle advocates for a balanced approach to development and security. All parties should work towards creating a healthy environment for the development of Gulf countries and infusing it with positive energy.

Xi believes that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of all nations must be respected. Additionally, ensuring the safety of every country’s citizens, institutions, and premises is essential.
