Noida, April 6: The weather in the National Capital Region (NCR) is set to change once again. According to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department, strong winds, overcast skies, and rain with occasional thunderstorms are expected on April 7 and 8.
On April 6, the weather remained normal, with a minimum temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 33 degrees Celsius recorded. The weather department predicts that on April 7, the minimum temperature will drop to 20 degrees, while the maximum will be around 31 degrees. By April 8, temperatures may fall further to a minimum of 18 degrees and a maximum of 31 degrees.
There is a possibility of rain or thunderstorms occurring once or twice on both days. On April 9, partial cloud cover is expected, while clear weather is anticipated on April 10 and 11, with temperatures gradually rising to a maximum of 33 to 34 degrees. This change in weather is attributed to a western disturbance, which will increase wind speeds and lead to a drop in temperatures across NCR and surrounding areas.
Specifically, a decrease of 2-3 degrees in minimum temperatures is likely, which may result in a slight chill for residents. Regarding air quality, the situation in NCR is currently better than before. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board, over 90 percent of the area falls within the “yellow zone,” indicating moderate air quality, providing some relief to residents.
In Noida’s Sector 125, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 217, categorizing it as poor. In contrast, Sector 62 reported an AQI of 120, Sector 1 at 134, and Sector 116 at 152. Various areas in Delhi also maintain moderate AQI levels, with Anand Vihar at 212, Ashok Vihar at 118, Bawana at 143, Chandni Chowk at 110, and RK Puram/CRRI Mathura Road at 134.
In Ghaziabad, Indirapuram recorded an AQI of 149, Sanjay Nagar at 167, and Vasundhara at 158. Meteorological and pollution control agencies suggest that the upcoming rain and strong winds may further improve air quality in the coming days.
