Mumbai, June 10: Waris Pathan, the national spokesperson of AIMIM and a sitting MLA, has sharply criticized Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane. This comes after Rane compared AIMIM to terrorist organizations such as ISI and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Pathan stated that such remarks are often made to stay in the limelight, urging the Chief Minister to pay attention to his minister’s statements.
He emphasized that the case in question has already seen a charge sheet filed and is currently under judicial consideration. Therefore, no political leader has the right to pass judgment before the court’s decision.
Pathan pointed out that Rane frequently accuses AIMIM and its leaders while investigations and legal processes are still ongoing. He remarked, “Sometimes, his statements are beyond comprehension.”
The AIMIM spokesperson asserted that their party contests elections democratically across India. He highlighted that party president Asaduddin Owaisi has been elected as an MP five times. Additionally, many AIMIM legislators, councilors, and representatives serve the public in various regions of the country. AIMIM works to voice the concerns of Dalits, marginalized communities, the poor, and the weaker sections of society.
Pathan accused Rane of making such controversial statements solely for media attention. He stressed that commenting politically on a matter pending in court and linking any party to terrorist organizations is entirely inappropriate.
He expressed complete faith in the judiciary, stating that everyone should accept whatever decision the court reaches.
