Ranchi, February 23: Voting is underway in 48 local bodies across Jharkhand, with prominent figures including the Governor, MPs, and Ministers casting their votes. They have urged citizens to actively participate in the democratic process.
Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar voted at a polling station located in the Administrative Training Institute complex in Ranchi. After voting, he spoke to the media, emphasizing that local body elections are directly linked to the development of the region.
He encouraged voters to make sure they cast their ballots and choose representatives committed to the welfare of their area and the state. The Governor stated that while voters should decide whom to vote for, participating in elections is a responsibility for every citizen.
Nishikant Dubey, the BJP MP from Godda, voted with his family in the Deoghar Municipal Corporation area. He shared a photo on social media, urging people to exercise their democratic right. After voting, he raised concerns about the ballot paper system, suggesting that in the digital age, this method could hinder the state’s progress. However, he expressed confidence that BJP-supported candidates would perform well.
Manish Jaiswal, the MP from Hazaribagh, also voted, describing it as a significant opportunity for the region’s development, cleanliness, and transparency. He appealed for increased participation with the message, “First vote, then refreshments.”
Minister Sudivya Kumar voted in Giridih, while the state’s Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cooperation Minister, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, cast her vote at the Sant Ajay Middle School polling booth in Dahisot Banhora.
She stated that voting is not just a right but also a responsibility, particularly urging the youth to step forward. The Minister shared a message on social media, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing educated, experienced, and visionary leadership when selecting city government representatives. The active participation of key leaders during the ongoing voting has further energized the electoral atmosphere across the state.
