
Rajgir, April 6: On the sixth day of the 16th Hockey India Sub-Junior Men’s National Championship 2026, teams from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand secured victories in Division ‘A’. In Division ‘B’, Delhi, Telangana, Karnataka, and Arunachal Pradesh also emerged victorious in their respective matches.
On Monday, in a Division ‘A’ Pool B match held in Rajgir, Jharkhand Hockey defeated the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu with a score of 8-1. For the winning team, Jayasan Kundulna scored twice (11’, 49’), while Sanjeet Bhengra (15’), Sukhu Guriya (45’), Karan Kumar (8’), Sunil Bhengra (35’), Arpan Panna (41’), and Tani Ashish Purti (2’) each contributed one goal. The sole goal for Tamil Nadu came from Sanjay (53’).
In a Division ‘A’ Pool C encounter, Uttar Pradesh Hockey triumphed over Hockey Haryana with a 4-0 scoreline. This victory was marked by goals from Nitish Yadav (10’), Prahlad Rajbahar (37’), Shahrukh Ali (50’), and captain Ketan Kushwaha (56’).
In a Division ‘A’ Pool D match, Madhya Pradesh Hockey edged out the Hockey Association of Odisha 6-4. The winning team saw captain Ansh Bahutra netting two goals (12’, 19’) alongside Siddharth Ben (9’, 49’) who also scored twice. Gautam Karan (37’) and UI Ryan Haq (58’) added one goal each. For the losing side, Deepak Toppo (34’, 60’) scored two goals, while Vinseti Tirki (15’) and Abhinash Lakra (53’) each contributed one goal.
Meanwhile, in Division ‘A’ Pool A, a tight contest between Hockey Punjab and Hockey Chandigarh ended in a 1-1 draw. Sanmukh Singh (15’) scored for Punjab, while Arjandeep Singh (20’) equalized for Chandigarh.
In Division ‘B’, Pool A, Delhi Hockey overwhelmed Hockey Uttarakhand with a score of 9-2. The victory was significantly aided by hat-tricks from Siddharth (2’, 44’, 45’) and Aryan (20’, 26’, 33’). Sushant Sahrawat (32’, 52’) scored two goals, and Hitesh Kataria (4’) added one. For Uttarakhand, Govind Singh (42’) and Vicky Bohra Singh (51’) found the net.
In another Division ‘B’ match, Telangana Hockey crushed Hockey Bengal 6-0. Amit Dayal led the charge with four goals (24’, 36’, 44’, 51’), while captain Yasith Jala Surya (58’) and Harsh Kumar (23’) each scored one goal.
In Division ‘B’, Pool B, Hockey Karnataka defeated Hockey Bihar 2-1, thanks to two goals from Rajesh Prateek Yarkal (15’, 33’). Bihar’s only goal came from captain Abhay Shah (6’).
In the final Division ‘B’ Pool B match of the day, Hockey Arunachal Pradesh achieved a stunning 15-2 victory over Hockey Himachal. Shashank Kumar was the star, scoring five goals (15’, 31’, 37’, 38’, 39’). Mohammad Ata (4’, 35’), Shubham Rajbhar (18’, 34’), and Himanshu Rajbhar (11’, 53’) each netted two goals. Captain Ashutosh Pal (23’), Vishal Rajbhar (41’), Mohit Yadav (1’), and Shreyansh Kushwaha (55’) contributed one goal each, while Himachal’s Daksh (17’, 58’) scored twice.
